The module provided an opportunity to explore, practice and challenge inter relationships between the commercial environment, creative thinking and technical practice. Trend Forecasting forms a foundation for understanding on how to identify patterns in order to establish future trend concepts and how these can be interpreted into market opportunities. It is a vital tool to ensure appropriate products and ideas are launched at the right time and is then marketed to the right consumer.

 

In an independent project, I evaluated ten key drivers to interpret the zeitgeist for 2017 and forecasted how the trend would manifest into a chosen sector, which was Visual Merchandising and retail interiors. This was communicated through a Trends Forecasting booklet suitable for fashion and lifestyle industries.
